Firsts Laughs - June 7, 2010

2 1/2 months

Tessa has started laughing.

It is so cute and still kind of a grunting noise :)

It brings a smile to our faces.

First Time Swimming - June 5, 2010

Tessa got to accompany Mom on a girl's trip to St. George.

It was hot. Over 1oo degrees hot.

So we definitely spent some time at the pool. I wouldn't say Tessa LOVED the water, but she definitely didn't mind either.

She was a happy, smiley baby the entire weekend! *Her adorable suit was a gift from Julie.

First Camping Trip - May 7th & 8th 2010

We took the family camping to Goblin Valley on May 7th. It was a little cold on Friday night (45 degrees), but we all bundled up and had a great time. Tessa was just as happy camping as if we were at home in our own beds.

Tessa was quite content hanging out with mom as we hiked around for the day.

I was a little nervous taking a 6 week old camping, especially with the cold night, but Tessa was happy as can be all weekend.

First Captured Smiles

Tessa is a smiler...hope that means she'll continue to be a happy baby. She started smiling from almost the get-go. I know, I know...babies don't actually smile until around 6 weeks...before then it's just gas, or totally random. But not this little lady. Her first smiles were around 2 WEEKS. Totally surprised me and my first thought was, just a coincidence or something. But within days Jared also had her smiling and my mom verified it as well! She sure is a cutie!

First Bottle - April 13, 2010

2 1/2 Weeks

I gave Tessa her first bottle tonight and she did pretty good. I was hoping that Jared would be home to do it, but no such luck. So I went ahead. It took her about 30 seconds to figure it out and then she was fine...for a bit. Then she spit it out and it took about 5 minutes for her to take it again. But she finished it up like a pro :)

And based on the picture if you think I'm just making all this up, she really did take her first bottle. Jared got home just as she was finishing so I made him quickly take a picture...but most the milk was already gone!

First Bath - March 31, 2010

We waited for Grandma Hastings to arrive to give Tessa her first bath. Her hair had already been washed (due to much too frequent vomiting - usually in the middle of the night), but she hadn't had the first bath! I don't think she enjoyed it.
